Our client in Wickliffe, KY is searching for a strong leader who is dedicated to making improvements in the safety of employees and able to direct culture towards an injury-free environment for all team members, contractors, and vendors. The successful Safety, Health & Security Manager will ensure the mill is in full compliance with corporate safety policies and national and state safety standards.
ESSENTIAL
Responsibilities:
Develops and promotes an atmosphere where all team members feel responsible for safety and show it in their actions every day;
Provides leadership and direction for mill safety processes, including: safe work practices, behavior-based safety, interventions, incident investigation, correction of unsafe practices and conditions, etc;
Ensures compliance with corporate standards and state/federal law
Manages the mill's safety and health services departments
Assesses changes in operating departments and mill equipment which could affect safe operating procedures and sign off on such changes where appropriate.
Responsible for case management of all work-related injuries and maintaining compliance with the OSHA record keeping requirements, including accident reports, statistical summaries/calculations, injury classification, etc.
Possesses effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possesses ambulatory capabilities to walk extensively, climb ladders and stairways and also tolerate temperature extremes in carrying out responsibilities.
Be able to work in a team-system environment.
Works beyond normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill the position responsibilities.
MUST HAVE
Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering or science
7-10 years experience in pulp and paper, steel, chemical process, or petro chemical industry or any other similar 24/7 manufacturing environment with a minimum of 100 employees and at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Requires proven technical/regulatory knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, and organization/management skills.

CSP or CIH certification.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft office software.
